Milorad Dodik, the longtime leader of the Republika Srpska (RS), who was stripped of his presidential mandate, has chosen a successor. The candidate for RS president is 63-year-old security official Sinisa Karan. Karan held senior positions in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Security Service, was an advisor to the RS president, and most recently, the republic's Interior Minister.
